We fish with anchovies using teaser heads when downrigger fishing in the outer reaches of the Alberni canal and around the Broken Group. The death roll produced by this combination is deadly, especially in August; biggest fish so far is 42 pounds!

When using anchovies pre-tied leaders with teaser heads and two hooks, either treble in front and single trailing are our choice. We always use pre-tied leaders so we don’t miss any chances when the bite is on. When these are trolled 6 to 8 feet behind the flasher they catch more fish than most other kinds of bait and lures. The following photo shows two examples of these leaders.
